A few answers to some of your questions.

CAMPERVAN HIRE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No doubt if you are new to camping you’ll have lots of questions; please see below the most common that we have been asked.

This is all new to us – we have no experience of using a campervan – is it easy?
Yes with a full handover given at time of collection you will be shown everything you need to know about a VW campervan. And remember if you do get stuck – just give us a call.
What do we do with our car?
You can leave your vehicle with us where it will be secure.
When do you take the payments?
We require a 20% deposit to be paid with the initial booking and the balance to be paid 30 days before your collection date.
Can we check the vans out before the booking?
Yes of course, just give us a call and we can arrange a suitable time when the vans will be here.
Do I need to pay a bond/deposit?

We require a £750 bond along with your £250 booking deposit on all our vans to satisfy our insurance company. Your bond will be returned in full within 14 days on the return of the vehicle subject to our terms and conditions being met.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Yes!! We will need to see your current driving licence, plus 2 additional forms of identification (i.e. bank statement or utility bill) that confirms your current address as shown on your licence. As paper counterpart licences are no longer issued, we will run a DVLA licence check which will mean you will need your National Insurance Number. You can generate a check code here on the DVLA website, if you don’t want to share your NI number.

Is there any mileage limitations?
No the mileage is unlimited.
Any age restrictions on the vans?
If aged between 23 and 25 – you must have a minimum of 2 year’s experience. All drivers and any additional drivers should have no more than 2 x 3 penalty point convictions.
What’s included and are there any hidden extras?
Our vans come fully equipped with everything you need for your holiday. But there are optional extras you may wish to add to your booking which do incur additional charges – please check our additional options page for more details.
What isn’t included?
Diesel – although the vans will be given to you with a full tank we do expect them to be returned the same or you will be charged.
– Food and drink
– Bedding and pillows
– Towels
Do all vans have roof racks/tow bars/bike racks fitted?
Bike racks are fitted to all vans.

The T5 and T6 have tow bars for small trailers, please note caravans are not allowed.

Only the T6 has a roof rack fitted.

Can we bring the dog?
Yes all our vans are pet friendly.
How long will it take to collect the van?
Usually about 30-40 minutes.
What happens if we break down?
Our vans are maintained to the highest of standards but should the worst happen then all our vans come with breakdown cover.
What happens in the event of a road accident?
If you are at fault then you will lose your bond as this will be used to cover the insurance excess on the vehicle.
What happens if we break something in the van?
All damages must be paid for so the cost of the repair or replacement will be deducted from your bond.
Can we take the vans to Europe?
Only the T5.1 and T6 are covered to travel to Europe but there will be additional insurance costs involved, therefore, please let us know so we can get a quote for you.
When do I need to bring it back?

Depending on what day you’ve booked the van for and for how long will determine whether you bring it back to us on a Monday or on a Friday. In either case the van will need to be with us between 9 am and 11 am.
